Dealing With Snack Attacks

So, you’re having a snack attack…
Well, the temptation is certainly great.
A lot of goodies are still within reach
And the wide variety you really can’t hate.

Dispensing machines and sampling platters,
Friends close by with their servers full.
This stuff about “no snacks at all…”
Well I think it’s really a bunch of bull!

Between right now and the end of the year
Snacks and goodies will abound!
You don’t have to travel very far,
Fresh baked cookies are all around.

One can choose from assorted things
Like nuts, chocolates, and pies.
And treats from Europe which I can’t pronounce…
They are paraded before my very eyes!

So yes it’s a time of great temptation
And you may be watching your weight.
Oh why don’t you diet in January,
Sometimes it’s best to be a little late.

There’s chips and dips and charcuterie boards.
Seems they’re everywhere you turn!
You want to be social and not offend the host
So you weigh all your options and carefully discern.

Oh, are my slacks too tight in the waist?
I must back off from the snacks.
I know I can do it--- it just takes will.
There must be defenses for another attack.

Uh, Oh my belt is now anchored in the last hole,
Can some galluses be the remedy?
I don’t want to sport a done-lapped condition.
I must be much stronger mentally!

I must be aware of my surroundings
And I must be aware of my flanks.
This battle is fought in the mind and on ground.
It isn’t fought with rifles and tanks!
